FAQ's...

Here are some questions we have been asked about the best care for roses. We hope you find it helpful and if you have any different questions please get in touch – we may be able to include it here to help our other customers

Q. How can I make my roses last for longer?

A. With a little regular care your roses will last much longer. Cut 1cm to 2cm off the bottom of the stem at a 45 degree angle and place them in water immediately, using a clean vase and cut flower food helps roses to stay well hydrated. A draught-free position for your vase is best, away from direct sunlight and heat. So, maintaining a constant temperature, changing the water and re-cutting the stems every few days is ideal if you don't have flower food whereas if you have flower food (All Purely Roses come with flower Food) then one does not have to change the water.

Q. What size Vase should i use for my roses?

A. This is a good question as many times we put too many stems of roses into a vase which means the roses then compete for the water uptake and in turn may not last as long. Ensure the size of your vase is suitable for the number of stems and that there is enough breathing space for the stems in the vase and as a result you will get a better vase life!

Q. Is it true that roses should not be placed near fruit?

A. This is true. Fruit (especially ripe fruit) gives off ethylene gas, a colourless odourless gas. This is harmful to flowers, causing them to deteriorate and roses are particularly susceptible to this.

Q. You have many roses on your website and you describe them as premium, spray and standard... what is the difference?

A. Our Premium Roses are are large headed roses, our Standard range Roses are medium head sized roses, and our Spray Roses have a multitude of heads per stem.
